Motor winders specialise in winding techniques, learning to use measuring instruments, prepare electric circuits, perform bench fitting, and understand generators and transformers.
In this course, you will learn to use basic mathematics, understand the properties of magnets and electromagnets, define the Fleming’s left and right hand rule, define the source of energy, and know about the properties of conductors, insulator and meaning of semi-conductors. You will also learn about the winding wires (metric size and temperature rating), have knowledge of joining circuit elements, about shot circuits and open circuits and grounding, understand ohms law and its application along with the operation principles of motors and generators. The course will also teach you about small motors and their winding, winding in electrical machines, and explain the correct procedures of dying, varnishing and baking and identifying common defects in motors, generators and transformers.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. You can enroll in this course now.
After completing this course, you will be able to use hand tools and bench tools, and perform mark sawing, filling, drilling and threading safely, along with making terminal plates, completing terminal plate box, and understanding the use of soldering irons and bits. You will also be able to handle, shape, lay and lace wires, use and care for an AVO meter and winding machine, understand winding diagrams and symbols and trace simple machine winding connections. Furthermore, you will also have learnt how to repair fan regulators, chokes and miniature transformers (bell transformer, voltage regulator).
