Overview

Knitting experts are proficient in knitting using flat and circular knitting machines as well as handling yarn and control of the machines.

What you will learn

This course is will allow the trainee to learn about the knitting industry. The purpose of this course is to provide maximum work in minimum time with quality, also understanding the technical terms used in knitting industry, quality controls, general maintenance of knitting machine, parts of knitting machine, threading and setting of various types of machines, planning and preparation of different types of knitting structures, and inspection knitted goods. In this course, the trainee will get the skill and knowledge of Flat and Circular knitting machines, their functions, lubrication methods, faults and remedies.

Training Outcome

On successful completion of this course, the trainee should be able to clean machines (before & after work), differentiate the needs of Single Cylinder Double Cylinder Knitting Machines etc, operate machines, handle Yarn and control of each machine properly, install yarn cones on machine, tie broken yarn ends, replace exhausted yarn packages and needles, notify Knitting-Machine Fixer (knitting) of mechanical defects, do a 13 point check of a sock, identify a defective sock, weigh knitted goods and record weight, have knowledge of yarn and machines, identify the yarn quality problems and easily knit with Cotton / Polyester and Spandex and rectify the causes of Yarn Breaking, Holes, Needle Breaks and their remedies etc.
