PSDF has always maintained women’s training as its key focus. Since its inception, 40% of all trainings at PSDF are for women, with the objective to attract more women to the labor force and help them become productive members of the economy. This program focus specifically includes training for women, across all sectors of the economy.

All community programs by PSDF particularly focuses on the involvement of rural females in economic activity. One such community project is the Skills for Market Linkages (SFML) Program which covers the following objectives: 1) Provision of demand-driven training to rural women in the garment sector, 2) Training includes training on core technical skills, business skills, and project work, 3) Establish market linkages with product buyers, 4) Provision of micro-finance for establishing new businesses, and 5) Train in business skills to empower women to become entrepreneurs. As a result of these training, 70% of graduates entered the sustainability phase, more than 2,100 orders were completed by trainees in the 6 months market linkages periods and an average of PKR 6,000 per month is earned by the graduates from zero income base.

Foodpanda Home Chefs Program under URAAN provided entrepreneurship training to female home chefs and onboarded on Foodpanda ‘Ghar Ka Khana’ platform. The pilot program was run for 50 home-based chefs who completed 2,900 orders within the first 2 months post-training, with an average income of PKR 16,000 per month per trainee.

Amazon Virtual Assistant Training Programme is designed to train women and equip them with the necessary skills so that they can provide freelancing services to the growing global e-commerce industry. In a duration of 8 weeks followed by a 4-week Employment Bootcamp. As a result of this training panned out across 23 districts an average of PKR 60,000 per month (USD 361) income was reported by graduates.
