An endeavor to Upskill and Uplift the Marginalised Community for Employability, Empowerment and an equal right to dignity.
This pillar focuses on the inclusion of marginalized and underprivileged youth into the mainstream economic activity. The key programs under this pillar includes PSDF’s Socially Marginalized Programs being run for Transgenders, persons with special needs and non-Muslim youth.
Under the transgender program, PSDF aims to help them obtain hands-on working experience and give them access to income generation opportunities. As part of this 12-weeks program, classroom and practical trainings of beautician and soft skills. 100% trainees successfully completed the trainings, with 90% of them finding employment or starting their own business. Moreover, interest fee loans from Akhuwat and Seedout were offered to these transgenders to get them started. Under Skills for Persons with Special Needs physically handicap, visually impaired or deaf people were trained in market employable skills. For a target of 2,500 trainees 78% enrolment to completion ratio was achieved. Similarly, Employability Skills for Non-Muslim Youth programme was developed whereby 48 training institutes and industries were engaged to impart trainings in market relevant skills to 5000 non-Muslim youth.
